Lauren says:

How does this radio look remarkably modern yet vintage at the same time? Maybe because each one is handcrafted by carpenters from Indonesian villages with locally harvested new growth wood.

Or maybe because the designer, Singgih Kartono wanted to reinterpret the iconic transistor we grew up on in something other than plastic and believed that using wood “will help to build a closer relationship [between the radio and] to its user.”

Maybe it’s because it receives FM, AM and can be connected to your iPhone. Maybe because it’s pretty. Who knows?

Topie says:

Awesome choice by Lauren, though out of my price range. Getting into styles for the home is fun. I do love sites like Domino, Apartment Therapy, Elle Decor. This thing is adorable. It looks like a small alien. It would be perfect in my future Muji Hut:

I’d really be “vibing” (as the Californians say) with all this sleek simplicity that uses natural elements. I’m really into this because it’s not too girly. I have a friend who owns everything Hello Kitty and pink. While that is fine and dandy to visit and is fun, it’s not for me, for everyday, ya dig?

Lauren says:

I LOVE THIS. It’s real marble! for your iPhone! Why on earth would you want a marble iPhone case? Because you can, and it looks awesome. Every piece of marble is unique and incredibly durable. Perfect for the man (or woman or gender neutral person) in your life. Or yourself. I want this. *Note: This case is only compatible with iPhone 6. If you have a 6 Plus, you can go here – http://www.mikolmarmi.com/

Topie says:

I have seen this recently in a magazine in a spread about all things marble. I dig it. Marble classes up anything. It has a nice unisex quality to it- not uber femme or masculine. It’s cool, clean and stands the test of time (if only iphones lasted as long as marble). I’d feel like a stone cold fox clutching this in my hand… get it? … get it?

Lauren says:

Ahhh this jacket is everything, and it’s only $88! It’s faux leather (animal and wallet friendly) and the drape front is cozy and sassy and delicious all at once. It’s a no-brainer. Except deciding which color!

Topie says:

This is a great choice by Lauren. I’ll take it in blue. It looks soooo soft and goes with so much. I really like the different colors and sheens. I’d wear it out to see a movie or something. It’s dressy enough and casual enough.

Tough to find stuff that can transition, especially in the cooler months when I just want to look like a marshmallow. Because it doesn’t rain that much in LA, I wouldn’t be too afraid to wear this out and mess it up. A lot of brands are doing super 70s throwbacks with this type of material, but this jacket looks thoroughly modern instead.

Lauren says:

How cool are these? I don’t know if they’re the most comfortable, but they’re made of partly reclaimed materials by Nicaraguan artisans. These are the perfect sandals that are durable enough for the beach that you wouldn’t mind getting a little big dirty. Plus you’re stocking up on good karma, right?

Topie says:

On sale now for 1/3 off and nautical- two things I’m into. Like Lauren tells us- these shoes would let you sleep at night knowing there was thought and consideration behind them. Growing up with The Navy, I’m very into anything that looks like rope from a boat.

Also with the #Cannes2015 Film Festival controversy of not letting a woman with a medical condition onto the red carpet without high heels, I’d love to wear these in protest. Give me a flowing gown and a pair of these any day.

Lauren says:

Time for another summer fave! Espadrilles. They’re the easy shoe that goes just as well with sundresses as they do with shorts. Plus, they always scream European vacation to me. And believe me, it’s always my goal to look like I’ve just come from St. Tropez.

Topie says:

Yes please. These look super comfy. Though, I wouldn’t get them for $135 or in white (even though it looks cute- I’d just get them filthy in five minutes of walking around), I’d look around for a less expensive version. I think the most for shoes I’ve ever paid is $70 and those were silver wingtips.

The all natural materials for these espadrilles look very breathable and like they would make for happy feet. They say flats, but they give you an extra half an inch of height it seems- works for me. I’d get these in denim to match a large portion of my wardrobe. Did you see the other colors? What would you get?

There ARE more teams like us out there

Lauren’s take:

These girls are so cute! And I love both of their Coachella weekend 2 outfits. They obviously have a very different sense of style and Coachella is a great place to express your fashion sense in a way you wouldn’t in normally in your every day life.

On the left, I love the simplicity of a bikini top and cutoffs, and the gold glitter makes a bold statement. The hair is up to keep the her cool and I love the fun glasses. The sneakers are great for walking over uneven ground, but I hate sock tan lines.

On the right, she’s cool and breezy. A wide brim hat and loose layers keep her covered and cool. I might add a little front tuck to emphasize the waist a little more. comfy shoes, fun glasses and necklace. Yay!

Topie’s take:

When I googled “Coachella Weekend 2” and found these two friends- I was like “finally”. I knew there were other pairs of gal-pals like Lauren and me. If these two were us, Lauren would be the one on the left and I’d be the one on the right, for sure.

Left side: I couldn’t do shorts that short or a bikini top that tiny and be comfy. Sock lines are funny, but red shoes are killer. I love shiny stuff (like on the shorts). Pink heart shaped glasses aren’t really me, but I like them on other people.

Right side: Completely me- I like a longer shirt over my belt area and shorts to at least mid-thigh so when I sit down, they aren’t up my butt. I’d totally wear a hat, but I couldn’t do the big purple bunch of think in the front, I think… although hair up is my every-day ‘has to be that way’. I have a thing for neon Lucite necklaces and mirror aviator glasses would be oh so fun. Most of the time, I need shoes like her’s- that you can slip off when no one’s watching…

Lauren says:

We’re firm believers that you don’t have to be rich to be chic. Of course, it’s worth investing in some quality pieces that’ll last you years like a nice coat or classic purse, but you don’t need to splurge on everything. I love these sandals as they’re perfect if you’re going to Coachella weekend two or the beach or anywhere else that you’re shoes can get ruined.

Topie says:

In the immortal words of Prince: “you don’t hafta be rich… to rule my world”. To this I add, you definitely don’t have to be rich to be classy or stylee. I love the print on these shoes. I have some pillows in my house that look like that. I’d really hope the soul of the shoe is super soft. I have flat feet, so… I’d like just a tad more height on them, although- sure being closer to the earth just makes one more “grounded”, right? (So, I’m told.)

Now, who would like to wear these sandals and perform this Prince dance with me? “Act your age, not your shoe size”, ya know?
